About me

I'm Amir, a product designer with an owner's mindset, accountable for growth as much as for craft. I lead design at Money Fellows, where we build payments and card products in Egypt.

I studied Computer Science in Cairo, then spent two years at Uber running training and compliance projects. That's where I learned how people actually learn, decide and change behavior, and where I fell for design.

Since then I've designed for e-commerce, MedTech, HR and fintech. Today I lead five designers, a UX researcher and a UX writer, and I mentor designers who want to think like product leaders.

How I lead

  1. Grow people on purpose. Every designer on the team has a development plan, and mentorship is part of the job, not a perk.
  2. Raise the bar with specific feedback. Honest, concrete critique and clear storytelling, so good work is easy to see and easy to approve.
  3. Tie design to the business. Research, analytics and experiments decide what we build, not opinions.
  4. Use AI as capacity, not taste. AI takes the production work so the team spends its time on decisions and craft.

  1. 2025 — Now Money Fellows - Head of Product Design

    Leading five designers, a UX researcher and a UX writer across the whole product.

    • Own the design vision and strategy, aligned with engineering, growth and product leadership
    • Monitor end-to-end flows to close gaps, cut drop-offs and lift conversion
    • Rebuilt the team's workflows with AI to ship faster without lowering the craft bar

    Led the Growth tribe and the Money Fellows Card.

    • Revamped bundling for a 300% conversion increase
    • Credit limit experience raised average ticket size by 28%
    • Launched shops & rewards, cashback, discounts and spending insights
  3. 2024 Money Fellows - Senior Product Designer II

    Activation, acquisition and the card.

    • Redesigned the leave experience: +50% customer retention
    • Higher-limit initiative: +24% ticket size
    • Automated ID verification with OCR; card pre-order and replacement flows
  4. 2022 — 2024 Money Fellows - Senior Product Designer

    Payments and the prepaid card, end to end.

    • Automated payouts: readiness rose from 2% to 91%
    • Payments Center revamp: −64% support calls, +54% CSAT
    • Bulk update tool cut manual payment entries by 40%
  5. 2021 — 2022 ExpandCart - Product Designer

    Design system, integrations and marketplace for an e-commerce platform.

    • Built an atomic design system from scratch
    • Integrated WhatsApp, Amazon, Jumia, Facebook Messenger and more
  6. 2021 ElDoktor - Product Designer

    MedTech startup MVP: secure in-app messaging and patient files, refined through usability testing.

  7. 2019 — 2021 DebugCell Solutions - UX/UI Designer

    Remote client work: a courts-reservation iOS app for Kuwait and a website for the UAE.

  8. 6 months Jisr (KSA) - UX Consultant

    Designed the Mawared HR platform and cut onboarding from 55 to 38 days.

  9. 2017 — 2019 Uber Egypt - Learning Specialist & PM

    Onboarding and refresher training with 98% satisfaction, an improved knowledge base, and a driver-sanctions compliance project for California.
